Shawn Michaels To Be Inducted Into The WWE Hall of Fame.

I greatly apologize for the lack of updates around here. I have been trying my hand at article writing so that has taken a lot of my time up. I'm sorry.

As many of you may know, it was announced this past Monday that Shawn Michaels will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2011!

I have supported Shawn for over 15 years now, and I cannot even tell you how proud I am. But I am going to try....

I want to share an article I wrote hours after Raw went off the air. It basically talks about how I became a fan of Shawn, the bumpy -but fun- ride of being an HBK fan. Here you go:

Shawn Michaels is going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 2nd, 2011. I have been a fan of this man since I was a little girl. I take you on a short journey of becoming an HBK fan many years ago, and how proud I am of him today.

This was written on my main site, Total HBK, last week. I have decided to post it here as well.

I realize I am almost a week late, but to be honest with you, I have not had the heart to make this particular update. For those who do not know, Shawn Michaels has retired this past Monday night (3.29.10.). He lost his Career vs. Streak match at Wrestlemania 26th on 3.28.10. Now, he can always come back sometime down the road. But from what I have read on various news sites, Shawn has been telling his peers that this is legit. Shawn is ready to go home & be with his family; watch his children grow up. This is completely understandable, and I support & respect his decision, even if it is a tough one for us Shawn fans.

I have been a fan of Shawn for over 14 years, and I always will be. He is my #1 favorite & basically my hero (aside from my parents). I want to not only thank Shawn for the last wonderful 14 years, but for the 25 or so he has put into entertaining us and giving his all night in & night out. It was one heck of a ride, & if he ever decides to return (in-ring or as another position in the company), I will be more than ready & willing to hop back on to that ride, no doubt about it.

Shawn, if you ever see this. You said when the fans were thanking you that you should be thanking us. You do not ever have to thank me. For the last 14 years, you bought something to very special into my life, as you have for all of your fans. You are the reason I became a die-hard wrestling fan, & when I was slowly drifting away in 2002, you are the reason I was sucked right back in. I will always be supportive & you will always be my favorite. And this is something you will never have to thank me for.

Thank you, Shawn Michaels, for the laughs, tears, entertainment, & everything. Enjoy your time with your family, you deserve it. We (your Kliq) all hope to see you again sometime down the road.

As for Total HBK, the Total HBK News & Results, & the Total HBK Forum, all three will remain open. You never know when I may have something to update with. And there has been too much put into the sites to close them down. Plus, as far as the forums go, we can still discuss Shawn & such there.

The Phenom appeared on Raw to confront Shawn Michaels; guest host Pete Rose arranged HBK vs. Kane.
Shawn Michaels hasn’t been this psyched for a match in quite some time. The 25-year veteran opened the broadcast and relayed the special feeling that’s overtaken him lately, the feeling that he can do anything – even end The Undertaker’s 17-0 WrestleMania streak. The Deadman, however, would have his say.

Interrupting Michaels via TitanTron, The Undertaker unspooled a video of HBK’s career highlights, ending with footage of his loss to Undertaker at The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. Just then, special guest host Pete Rose joined Michaels and informed him that he had the perfect way for The Showstopper to prepare for his WrestleMania match: Battle The Undertaker’s brother, Kane, only being able to win by pinfall or submission in what could be his final match on Raw. It also helped that The Big Red Monster had punished Rose in his previous appearances on WWE.

During Shawn Michaels’ match against Kane, The Phenom decided to undertake a most sinister game of hide-and-seek. Just as HBK was busy tuning up the band on Kane, the arena lights cut out and The Deadman’s familiar gong resonated throughout. When the ring was once again basked in light, The Undertaker had taken the place of his brother and chokeslammed Michaels. As The Showstopper lie in pain, the lights cut out again, only this time when they flicked on, it was Kane again angling for the pin.

Michaels, however, kicked out and flipped the script on Kane. He laid him out with a swift dose of Sweet Chin Music and covered The Big Red Monster for the win, perhaps for the last time ever on Raw.

Shawn Michaels def. World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho by Count-out.
Chris Jericho probably thought he was being cute. Rather than continue fighting Shawn Michaels in a rematch from their WrestleMania XIX bout, the World Heavyweight Champion instead lost by deliberately getting himself counted out. Well, the joke was on him when his WrestleMania rival Edge decided to join the festivities. The Ultimate Opportunist battered the World Heavyweight Champion, flipped him into the ring and hammered him with a Spear.

DX invoked Unified Tag Title rematch clause.
Shawn Michaels appeared pretty steamed when “Mr. WrestleMania” addressed the WWE Universe regarding his rematch with The Undertaker. HBK told the crowd inside the Ford Center that his fellow Superstars think he lost the plot when he put his career on the line against The Deadman’s 17-0 WrestleMania streak. He even challenged anyone in the locker room who felt that way to face him, and one man did: Triple H.

Rather than belittle his DX partner, however, The Game encouraged Michaels epic undertaking, so to speak. He even felt the two should build momentum by invoking their rematch clause for the Unified Tag Team Championship. Michaels was on board, and so later tonight the duo will clash in a title match against champs Big Show & The Miz.

In what could possibly be their last match together, DX had hoped to exit on a triumphant note. A couple of black and white distractions, however, left the duo seeing red. Triple H & Shawn Michaels appeared to be holding their own against Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz during their title match. Not surprisingly, The Undertaker would prove to be the death of their momentum. When The Deadman appeared on the arena’s TitanTron, HBK became distracted, allowing himself to get pinned. An enraged Michaels stormed off leaving his partner behind. That, too, would be regrettable.

Alone and unwitting, The Game was ambushed by former WWE Champion Sheamus, who clotheslined Triple H out of the ring. And, for good measure, The Celtic Warrior kicked him again over the announcer’s table.

U.S. Champion The Miz & Big Show def. Unified Tag Team Champions DX and Straight Edge Society in a Triple Threat Elimination Match.
Shawn Michaels’ recent career crisis appears to have DX unraveling at the seams. HBK and Triple H joined forces in an effort to retain their Unified Tag Team Titles in a Triple Threat Elimination Match against United States Champion The Miz & Big Show and the Straight Edge Society. Michaels, however, seemed distracted by what can only be categorized as his obsession with a WrestleMania rematch against World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker.

After eliminating Luke Gallows, HBK focused on the remaining threat, Big Show & Miz. Rather than offer his usual sure-handed performance, though, Michaels crumpled, allowing his opponents to surmount his offense and capture the Unified Tag Team Titles.

A frustrated Michaels confronted SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long after the bout demanding to be traded to SmackDown and included in the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber Match. Long declined, though, explaining that the participants were already set. When The Game asked why his distraught friend was destroying his career, Michaels told him that, as far as he was concerned, his career was already over. For good measure, he then superkicked an unsuspecting Long.

Randy Orton def. Shawn Michaels in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match.
With one clear path to The Undertaker denied, Shawn Michaels hoped to take the road less traveled by first prevailing in the evening’s third Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match. Unfortunately for him, Randy Orton was acting as toll collector. Combating an obsessive yearning for a WrestleMania rematch with the World Heavyweight Champion, HBK came up short against The Viper, who was undoubtedly still steaming over his loss to WWE Champion Sheamus the night before.

Guest host William Shatner arranged Unified Tag Team Triple Threat Match for next week.
William Shatner: Renaissance Man. The iconic thespian wears many hats in his life, and, in WWE, he slipped easily into his role as “Raw Match Negotiator.” When United States Champion The Miz & The Big Show whined about wanting to face DX for the Unified Tag Team Titles, they were not alone. CM Punk & Luke Gallows also craved an opportunity. Therefore, the brilliance that is Shatner arranged for the three teams to battle for the titles next Monday night in a Unified Tag Team Triple Threat Match.

World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker confronted Mr. McMahon and Shawn Michaels.
Watching Bret Hart’s return to WWE after a 12-year absence, many of those watching shared the “Hit Man’s” sense of relief and forgiveness. Then, after Mr. McMahon appeared to make amends with his longtime nemesis, it was difficult not to also feel the sting of betrayal when The Chairman kicked Hart and left him writhing on the canvas.

Mr. McMahon did not apologize for his actions. On the contrary, he dug his heels in even farther. After stating last week that Hart would never again be seen in WWE, The Chairman insisted that Hart deserved such rough treatment.

One man who felt Hart’s pain acutely emerged to not only confront Mr. McMahon for his questionable actions, but also to meet head-on with a longtime nemesis of his own. World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker appeared on Raw and bluntly put The Chairman in his place, even calling his actions cowardly. As Mr. McMahon slipped out of the ring, The Deadman went on to address Shawn Michaels’ question: Will Undertaker battle HBK again in a rematch of their legendary WrestleMania bout?

The answer, sadly for WWE Universe members, was an emphatic “no.” The Phenom may have denied HBK, but Michaels realized that his ticket could be stamped were he to win the Royal Rumble, in which case he could choose the World Championship for which he would like to compete.

Guest co-host Jon Heder arranged Unified Tag Team Champions DX vs. United States Champion The Miz & Big Show.
Like his most infamous character, Napoleon Dynamite, actor Jon Heder probably got picked on growing up. After all, what type of damaged personality would willingly choose to pair up United States Champion The Miz with Big Show? While the actor and his co-host, Don Johnson, addressed the Knoxville faithful, Heder even arranged a main event match: Miz & Big Show vs. Unified Tag Team Champions DX.

Later in the evening, after a rather abrupt negotiation, compliments of Hornswoggle and Triple H, Miz & Show agreed to make the bout a Six-Man Tag Team Match featuring DX & Hornswoggle against Miz, Show & Jon Heder!

Unified Tag Team Champions DX & Hornswoggle def. United States Champion The Miz, Big Show & Jon Heder.
Jon Heder has demonstrated his unique ability as an actor. As a wrestler, not so much. The When in Rome star teamed with the newly formed squad of United States Champion The Miz & Big Show to take on Unified Tag Team Champions DX & Hornswoggle.

While Miz & Show assured Heder he’d be just fine in their hands, when The World’s Largest Athlete ended up outside the ring in pain, the actor was forced to enter the ring, where he suffered a humiliating loss and had to have his co-star, Don Johnson, escort him out.

Before the celebration kicked off, though, John Cena grabbed a mic and informed the match participants that it will be he who proves to be the last man standing at Royal Rumble. As to be expected, Big Show, Triple H and Shawn Michaels each took exception. So much so, in fact, that DX proceeded to toss Show and Cena over the top rope and outside the ring. And then, in a shocking show of independence, The Game heaved his own partner HBK over the top rope, telling him that the WWE Championship and WrestleMania are the two things he lives for. And that he, too, will compete in the 2010 Royal Rumble Match.

Guest host Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels reconciled.
The conclusion of the WWE Title Match at Survivor Series 1997 between then-champion Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Shawn Michaels remains one of the most controversial episodes in WWE history. Hart was forced to relinquish his title to HBK after the referee called for a quick bell while Michaels had his opponent locked in Hart’s signature submission hold, The Sharpshooter, despite the fact that Hart never submitted.

The incident, known as the “Montreal Screwjob,” left a bitter taste in Hart’s mouth, including a palpable disdain for both Michaels and the man who orchestrated his defeat, Mr. McMahon.

While revenge has always nourished motivation, time continues to mend old wounds, which seemed to be the case when Hart addressed the audience at the top of Raw. Not only did the former five-time WWE Champion and WWE Hall of Famer thank the WWE Universe for their support, he also called out Michaels in an effort to bury the hatchet.

Michaels obliged, and the two talked openly about their feelings from that night and beyond. The men concluded their conversation with a handshake and, eventually, a heartfelt embrace. Perhaps in a forgiving mood, Hart even called out Mr. McMahon, who nonetheless did not emerge to join the two in the ring.

Unified Tag Team Champions DX def. Chris Jericho & Big Show.
Chris Jericho had his chances. The SmackDown Superstar and his partner, Big Show, held the Unified Tag Team Championships for months, which allowed Jericho to appear on all WWE brands, including Raw. Last month, however, Jeri-Show dropped the titles to Triple H & Shawn Michaels. Ever since, the arrogant Superstar has done everything in his power to recapture the titles, which would once again allow him to launch his petty attacks on Raw.

Jericho’s whining, however, simply wasn’t enough. When Jeri-Show teamed up against DX, The Game and HBK, with a little help from Hornswoggle, managed to overcome their opponents and bid Jericho a gleeful goodbye.

DX vs. Chris Jericho ended in a No Contest.
Surprise, surprise. Rather than take his medicine like a man, Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho relied on his partner, Big Show, to save his bacon. After losing to Triple H last week, the self-important Superstar was forced by stipulation this week to face The Game & Shawn Michaels in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match.

Just six days before the two teams clash in a TLC Match at WWE TLC, The World’s Largest Athlete interfered on his partner’s behalf. He and Jericho, perhaps in a preview of pain to come, attacked DX with a ladder and chair, leaving The Game and HBK trounced in their wake.

DX being sued by Hornswoggle.
Just as Triple H and Shawn Michaels were reciting a list of things for which they’re grateful, the two were interrupted by a lawyer representing Hornswoggle. The attorney informed DX that, after last week’s Pedigree on Hornswoggle, the leprechaun is suing the duo for intentional infliction of emotional distress and will see them in "little people's court" next week.

DX def. The Hart Dynasty; Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show will defend their titles against DX at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs.
Despite practically trying to dismantle one another at Survivor Series in a Triple Threat WWE Title Match, Triple H and Shawn Michaels reestablished their bond, understanding their actions the night before were in the heat of competition. Once they put bygones behind them, they quickly found their groove while facing off against The Hart Dynasty. While Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith looked to be in top shape and gave the DX duo a bit of a scare, the veterans pulled out the victory.

Afterward, Chris Jericho paid the two a visit to discuss he and Big Show defending their Unified Tag Team Titles against the challenge of DX at the upcoming pay-per-view, WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs. After listening to Jericho condescend for a while, DX happily informed the self-important Superstar that their bout will be a TLC Match!

Raw special guest host Ricky Hatton arranged Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show against DX.
Will Big Show ever learn? Just as he did when he lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr., at WrestleMania XXIV, The World’s Largest Athlete decided to threaten and antagonize a wiry professional boxer. This time, Show targeted Raw’s special guest host, two-time IBF welterweight champion and former unified light welterweight champion Ricky Hatton.

With an impressive 32 knockouts under his belt, Hatton absorbed Show’s threats but wasn’t about to budge. Instead, he prepared to silence Show with one solid punch when Show’s Unified Tag Team Championship partner, Chris Jericho, interrupted. After Hatton announced that Jeri-Show must face DX, Jericho went off on a rant about Hatton, The Queen and the whole of England.

His diatribe took a detour, however, when Triple H & Shawn Michaels emerged to confront their opponents. D-Generation X assured the Unified Tag Team Champions that while they may have gotten the best of DX a week earlier, thanks to a few cheap shots, tonight The Game & HBK were going to squash Jeri-Show like a batch of mushy peas.

DX def. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show in a Non-Title Match; WWE Champion John Cena & World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker will team up next week.
Two weeks before Survivor Series, Triple H & Shawn Michaels offered WWE Champion John Cena a preview of what awaits him in that trio’s Triple Threat Match. The DX duo faced down Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show, who themselves will combat World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker in their own battle of three.

With The Champ looking on from the announcer’s table, the teams punished one another until The World’s Largest Athlete attempted to seal Michaels’ fate. As HBK fended off an attack from Jericho, Show illegally charged him. When Show attempted to land a knock out punch on Michaels, though, he accidentally connected with his partner, allowing HBK to score the pin.

While the turn of events was unforeseen, the biggest surprise came after the match. The WWE Champion revealed that next week’s Raw will include a Triple Threat Tag Team Match involving three teams: DX, Jeri-Show and … John Cena & The Undertaker! Each of the teams appeared as stunned as the WWE Universe as the World Heavyweight Champion slowly and deliberately walked down the entrance ramp, eyeing his opponents.

WWE Champion John Cena delivered a memorable performance against Randy Orton at WWE Bragging Rights to capture his seventh World Title. The Champ, however, will have no time to rest or celebrate as he will have to defend his gold against a pair of allies, DX’s Shawn Michaels and Triple H, in a Triple Threat Match at Survivor Series.

Unlike most Triple Threat Matches which generally feature three existing foes, this extraordinary contest carries a much different outlook.

Cena, for one, will be forced to resist punishment from two former World Champions and future WWE Hall of Famers. The Game and HBK are two of WWE’s most illustrious all-time ring warriors, and unquestionably, each expect to reclaim the title.

The prominent question, though, will relate to Triple H and Michaels’ motives. Will the effervescent duo work as a team to ravage The Champ? Or, in contrast, will each DX Superstar focus on their individual quests to repossess the WWE Championship?

The WWE Universe has witnessed many allies throughout WWE’s storied history get into scuffles when the title is on the line. Most recently, for example, even longtime friends Batista and Rey Mysterio divided at WWE Bragging Rights during their Fatal Four Way Match when The Animal blamed his former buddy for his own defeat.

While DX asks Cena if he will be ready for Survivor Series, it’s also imperative for The Cerebral Assassin and The Showstopper to ask themselves if they will be ready. It will be uncustomary for the two partners to be opponents – something they haven’t done since DX’s fallout earlier this decade.

Cena, meanwhile, has stepped up to every challenge throughout his career, including proving he was the ultimate champion in his unforgettable rivalry with The Viper. The esteemed gladiator also has plenty of experience battling Triple H and Michaels. In fact, the 12 Rounds star defeated The Game and HBK, respectively, at back-to-back WrestleManias in 2006 and 2007.

Retaining the gold, however, may not be in The Champ’s control. The first man to pin one of their opponents will be the champion.

The little guy, dressed as a DX member, received a surprise of his own. A lawyer from Triple H and Shawn Michaels served ‘Swoggle with a "Cease and Desist" order in order to force the leprechaun to stop imitating them.

After Big Show’s selfish betrayal of Team Raw the night before at WWE Bragging Rights, the Raw roster was only too happy to involve themselves during Show’s match with Triple H – thanks to Raw’s special guest hosts, the bout was now a No Disqualification Lumberjack Match with a special guest referee: WWE Champion John Cena!

Surrounded by a battery of Superstars ready to punish him, Show lashed out and attacked his brand mates. The show of force, however, would prove futile. A barrage of Raw Superstars exploded on Show until finally The Game also unleashed his considerable anger over the events the night before on his opponent, emerging with a satisfying victory.

As Triple H celebrated with Shawn Michaels and The Champ by his side, Raw special guest hosts Kyle Busch and Joey Logano surfaced to throw up a caution flag. The two clued in the WWE Universe on who would face Cena at Survivor Series: The Champ must face Triple H and HBK in a Triple Threat WWE Title Match!

Raw guest host Snoop Dogg arranged WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase, Shawn Michaels vs. Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho.
Don’t let Snoop Dogg fool you. The rapper/actor has kicked out a trunk full of thick, laid back beats over the years and has played some mellow characters on the big screen, but he was all business in his role as Raw’s special guest host.

Snoop reiterated that John Cena’s battle with Triple H may be his final match on Raw, that is if Cena loses to WWE Champion Randy Orton at WWE Bragging Rights. Wanting to go down as the “greatest guest host of all time,” Snoop also arranged for Orton to face Ted DiBiase, the protégé who pinned The Viper the week prior. For good measure, the rapper/actor set up a bout pitting Team SmackDown co-captain Chris Jericho against Team Raw co-captain Shawn Michaels.

DX arranged Team Raw members in a 10-Man Tag Team Match.
To test their team’s mettle just six days before WWE Bragging Rights, Team Raw co-captains Triple H and Shawn Michaels arranged for Big Show, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston & Jack Swagger to face MVP, Evan Bourne, Primo, Chavo Guerrero & Chris Masters. The catch? If anyone from Team Raw were to lose, that member would be replaced by the opponent that pinned him before facing Team SmackDown on Sunday.

Unfortunately for Team Raw, their members were too busy squabbling with one another to display any cohesive focus. Before their dissension proved toxic, however, “The All-American American” managed to overcome the internal strife and score a pin for his team. The respite proved brief, though, as the team members began to exchange blows amongst themselves.

Shawn Michaels vs. Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho ended in a No Contest.
It figures. Unified Tag Team Champion and Team SmackDown co-captain Chris Jericho was supposed to fight against Team Raw co-captain Shawn Michaels in the main event. Jericho, however, wasn’t about to let a perfectly good opportunity to deceive and punish his WWE Bragging Rights rival go to waste.

Having witnessed the Team Raw disarray earlier in the evening, Jericho presumed he could take advantage. As he and HBK stood in the ring, he summoned the rest of his SmackDown crew in the hope of pummeling Michaels. The plan, however, backfired. Rather than intimidate HBK, the scheme actually offered a common purpose to the Raw lineup as they emerged to confront their SmackDown counterparts.

As the two teams verged on combat, SmackDown’s Vickie Guerrero interrupted, insisting that no physicality would occur until Sunday at WWE Bragging Rights. DX didn’t take Vickie’s whining to heart, instead attacking their opponents, which resulted in an all-out brawl between Team Raw and Team SmackDown to end Monday night.

Triple H arranged Big Show vs. Chris Jericho.
Chris Jericho has never been shy about exercising his right to free speech. Unfortunately for the WWE Universe, there’s such a thing as too much exercise. As the self-important Superstar, and captain of the SmackDown team for the upcoming WWE Bragging Rights pay-per-view, geared up to convince the audience of the superiority of his brand, Raw’s special guest host Nancy O’Dell of Access Hollywood pulled the plug, instead giving the floor over to Raw’s team captains for WWE Bragging Rights, D-Generation X. Only one problem: a Shawn Michaels stand-in approached the ring with Triple H since the real Michaels was busy at home nursing a sick daughter.

HBK’s partner Triple H phoned him and wished his daughter a speedy recovery before Jericho barged in, this time with help from his Unified Tag Team Champion partner, Big Show. The confrontation took an unexpected turn when Jericho & Show began bickering about who had been carrying their team. Before the dust settled, Show told Jericho that instead of fighting for the SmackDown team, he would battle for Raw at WWE Bragging Rights. The Game, however, had other ideas. Triple H notified Show that he would have to earn his way on the Raw team by fighting an opponent of The Game’s choosing: Chris Jericho!

Earlier in the evening, Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show made the case that they are the greatest tag team ever assembled. A little tandem by the name of DX took issue, as you might imagine. As a man used to dealing with warring factions, Raw special guest host Ben Roethlisberger, his offensive line by his side, devised an idea brilliant in its simplicity: Settle it in the ring, fellas.

The mouthy Jericho & snarling Show, riding a wave of momentum after their victory over Batista & Rey Mysterio at Hell in a Cell the night before, seemed to dominate the match for a time. Triple H & Shawn Michaels, however, were coming off an equally lofty win over The Legacy. When the sand began to shift under their boots, the Unified Tag Team Champions thought they would simply quit and leave the ring. Unfortunately for them, their earlier insults prompted Roethlisberger and the Steelers offensive line to confront the two and corral them back into the squared circle. Once there, a waiting DX licked their chops and devoured the Unified Tag Team Champions for the victory.

As if there wasn’t enough animosity crackling between The Legacy and D-Generation X, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase tweaked their WWE Hell in a Cell opponents by unspooling footage of Legacy defeating and humiliating DX over the past month. Never to be outdone, DX retaliated by poking fun at their young antagonists and confronted the two, but Rhodes & DiBiase fled. In the run up to WWE Hell in a Cell, the two teams will have a chance to prove themselves in the biggest Eight-Man Tag Team Match in the history of Friday Night SmackDown, just 48 hours before meeting inside Satan’s Structure.

Be careful what you wish for. That’s one lesson among many for The Legacy, who received a dream match-up against DX at WWE Breaking Point and pulled off the biggest upset of their young career. Now, however, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase must face Shawn Michaels & Triple H again at WWE Hell in a Cell inside Satan’s Structure.

For his part, Michaels was the first man to win a Hell in a Cell Match while The Game has won more of the sadistic bouts than any other Superstar. Before the teams square off in two weeks, though, The Legacy made quite a statement. Triple H faced Rhodes on Raw as their respective partners looked on. The match devolved, though, when Rhodes & DiBiase slammed Michaels outside of the ring before attacking Triple H with a chair inside the ring. When the duo left The Game immobile in the center of the ring, they submitted one more piece of evidence that they could indeed be the future of WWE.

As proven by their recent altercations, things are far from over between The Legacy’s Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase and DX’s Shawn Michaels & Triple H. At the first-ever WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, the two teams will have at it again – this time inside Satan’s Structure.

This announcement came just one night after Rhodes & DiBiase picked up the biggest win of their young careers by doing what nobody has ever done before: Make DX submit. In a brutal match at WWE Breaking Point, the two members of The Legacy applied duel submission maneuvers on HBK, making him tap out in an unprecedented Submissions Count Anywhere Match.

For months, Rhodes & DiBiase have tormented The Game at all turns, and it seemed with DX’s reunion and win at SummerSlam, that combination of Michaels and Triple H might be just what the doctor ordered to get rid of The Legacy plague.

That has turned out to not be the case as both Rhodes & DiBiase have proven that they are not to be underestimated and that they are both capable of standing toe-to-toe with the legendary pairing.

In the locker room area, Bob Barker gave DX an opportunity to spin the wheel in order to determine their opponents for tonight. As luck would have it, the unique combination of WWE Champion Randy Orton & Chris Masters came up, giving Triple H & Shawn Michaels reason to smile. The duo was more than happy about an opportunity to inflict some punishment on The Legacy leader before they face Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase in a Submissions Count Anywhere Match at WWE Breaking Point on Sunday.

D-Generation X def. WWE Champion Randy Orton & Chris Masters.
Despite having never teamed before, The Viper’s viciousness and Masters’ brute strength made a great combination. Yet, in the end, HBK forced The Masterpiece to tap out to give DX the victory. The night didn’t end there, however. The Legacy then rushed to the ring and brawled with DX all the way to the locker room area before retreating from the arena in a stolen car.

In the ring, Randy Orton grabbed the microphone and told the WWE Universe that he will leave WWE Breaking Point with his championship. This arrogant announcement caused John Cena to rush to the ring to confront Orton. The two men quickly traded blows before Orton laid the 12 Rounds star out with a brutal DDT. The Viper then showed how vicious he can be by delivering an RKO to Cena onto a steel chair. As Raw came to a close, Orton stood over Cena’s fallen body and vowed to make him quit on Sunday.

Triple H & Shawn Michaels made a triumphant return as D-Generation X at SummerSlam. But the opponents they conquered at The Biggest Event of the Summer – The Legacy’s Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase – established themselves not only as a force to be reckoned with, but as a persistent thorn that refuses to leave DX’s collective side.

Well, The Game & HBK are determined to pluck that thorn once and for all at WWE Breaking Point – in the first-ever Submissions Count Anywhere Match.

It’s understood by all combatants that there will be many firsts come WWE Breaking Point, the first-ever event of its kind that pushes WWE Superstars to their very limits. But for DX and Legacy, it will also be a first time that one member from these tag teams will tap out and submit to their opponents - a fate both sides must consider worse than the traditional pinfall defeat.

At SummerSlam, Triple H & Michaels were geared for war with Rhodes & DiBiase, even riding out to ringside on a tank. But The Legacy was also prepared, countering every salvo DX could throw at them until some arguably desperate Sweet Chin Music from HBK brought a decisive end to the conflict – at least on that night.

However, if there's one trait that Rhodes & DiBiase have inherited from respective fathers Dusty Rhodes and The Million Dollar Man, it’s dogged determination. WWE Champion Randy Orton may have fostered that attribute into something overly antagonistic, but Rhodes & DiBiase have since taken it to extremes, especially where The King of Kings & The Showstopper have been concerned.

Though not victorious at SummerSlam, the diabolical duo has certainly achieved its fair share of success against DX before and following The Biggest Event of the Summer. On Raw, while triple-teaming Orton’s opponent for WWE Breaking Point, John Cena, Rhodes & DiBiase – aided by the WWE Champion and Special Guest Host Dusty Rhodes – foiled a DX rescue attempt and left The Game & HBK tasting canvas.

At WWE Breaking Point, though, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase won’t care where Triple H & Shawn Michaels fall; a Submissions Count Anywhere Match means precisely that. Whether inside the ring, on the outside floor, in the stands of Montreal’s Molson Center or beyond, Legacy’s sole objective will be to force D-Generation X into submission – a "d-feat" that could symbolically forever "d-rail" D-Generation X.

D-Generation X watched “The Rise & Fall of WCW” with Dusty Rhodes, but were interrupted by a new Shockmaster.
Throughout the night, Raw’s special guest host Dusty Rhodes was joined in his office by D-Generation X. Together, the three watched selected clips from the new DVD, “The Rise & Fall of WCW”. Though the DVD is chock-full of fantastic moments, there’s one in particular that Triple H was missing: The coming of The Shockmaster. After explaining the moment to Rhodes and Shawn Michaels, the three were joined by an all-new Shockmaster, who revealed himself to be none other than Santino Marella.

WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes ended in a no contest when The Legacy attacked guest referee John Cena, drawing out D-Generation X.
Before Raw’s main event between WWE Champion Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes could begin, special guest host Dusty Rhodes reminded John Cena and the WWE Universe that there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his son. Following his declaration, both Orton and Cody Rhodes turned on The Viper’s WWE Breaking Point opponent. The third member of Legacy then joined his associates in attacking Cena.

The treacherous act got the attention of D-Generation X, however, who rushed to the ring in spite of the three-on-two odds. After Dusty Rhodes clobbered Triple H with his boot, the multi-generational Superstars got the best of DX. But as Legacy stood proud over Cena, The Game and HBK, yet another double-cross occurred, with Orton hitting Hall of Famer Rhodes with a lightning-quick RKO. Though Cody Rhodes was initially angry about The Viper’s attack on his father, he reluctantly fell in line.

Mr. McMahon arranges WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena at WWE Breaking Point; Orton & Legacy vs. DX & Mr. McMahon tonight.
One of the fun parts about throwing a great party is getting together the next day to talk about how everything went down. Well, SummerSlam is no different. WWE Champion Randy Orton, along with his Legacy henchmen Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase were all too eager to discuss one of the wildest celebrations of the year.

As Orton patted himself on the back for retaining the gold in a match that saw a fan charge the ring and interrupt the bout, DiBiase revealed that the “fan” in question was actually his younger brother, Brett. While the revelation prompted the entire WWE Universe to offer a collective “Hmmm,” Orton claimed he would have won without Brett’s interference. Mr. McMahon, however, wasn’t so convinced.

The Chairman announced that not only would Raw celebrity guest host Floyd “Money” Mayweather be arriving later in the evening, but that Orton would be forced to defend his title against Cena in three weeks in an “I Quit” Match at WWE’s newest pay-per-view, WWE Breaking Point, in which each Superstar must win by submission. And if anyone interferes during this bout, Orton will be stripped of the title. (Match preview)

Before he could leave, however, The Chairman was stopped by his longtime antagonists, DX. Triple H & Shawn Michaels did not let the opportunity pass to razz Mr. McMahon, who was celebrating his 64th birthday. During an extravagant Las Vegas ribbing, however, they were attacked by the tag team they had defeated the night before at SummerSlam, Rhodes & DiBiase.

The strike angered DX enough to prompt The Game to announce a main event No Disqualification Match pitting Orton & Legacy against DX and … Mr. McMahon!

For many, it felt as if they were watching dogs snuggling with cats, the Boston Red Sox high-fiving the New York Yankees or Britney Spears reuniting with reality. Only this was even stranger: Mr. McMahon paired with his longtime tormentors DX in the ring. While the coupling was certainly unprecedented, it was also successful. Although The Chairman and his teammates had never fought together before, they were cohesive enough to hold their own and chase Orton from the ring.

As Orton tried to slither up the ramp to safety, his path was obstructed when John Cena entered. With nowhere to run, Orton clamored back into the ring, where HBK offered up Sweet Chin Music. Then, it was Cena’s turn. Avenging his underhanded loss from the night before, Orton’s SummerSlam opponent took the opportunity to administer a well-deserved Attitude Adjustment, allowing Mr. McMahon to pin The Viper for the three-count.

Regeneration X? There had been no sign of Shawn Michaels ever since his loss to Undertaker at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania in an epic match. Finally, however, Triple H managed to track down the elusive Superstar … in a corporate cafeteria? That’s right. It appears HBK had decided to go underground, working as a cook, when his former DX partner pleaded with him to reform DX and compete against The Legacy at SummerSlam. To The Game’s relief, and the WWE Universe’s delight, Michaels agreed.

Undertaker & HBK's Returns: "We get a ton of emails regarding when the Undertaker will be returning to WWE. I don't know anything official but my money would be on some time in September. I could theoretically see Shawn Michaels return in late August, perhaps even at Summerslam, and then HBK's WM25 opponent returning a month later. We'll see soon enough but these are simply assumptions and we all know what happens when on assumes."

There is still no official word in on when Shawn Michaels will be returning to WWE television. HBK was pretty banged up after his WrestleMania 25 match and was given a lengthy period of time to spend at home recovering and recharging his batteries.

Michaels said to the company that he wanted an extended period of time off television to spend with his family. Obviously WWE executives hope to have "The Showstoppa" back sooner than later, although again, no official word is in on when he'll be showing back up.

Shawn came out & held a funeral for The Undertaker's streak. He stated that they've been down this road before, & that the one thing The Undertaker has failed to do was to beat Shawn.

The Undertaker's music hit & it went dark. When the lights came back on, 'Taker was in the ring, but Shawn was no where to be found. He checked in the casket, but Shawn wasn't in there. When he turned around, Shawn crawled out from under the casket & hit 'Taker with some Sweet Chin Music.

When it comes to WrestleMania, one person steals the show time after time. That's why Shawn Michaels has earned the nickname "Mr. WrestleMania". Last year, he had the emotional task of facing Ric Flair in what was the final match of the "Nature Boy's" legendary career. On Sunday, April 5 he will square off against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25 who is a perfect 16-0 on sports entertainment's biggest stage. Recently, I spoke with Michaels about the match, last year's show, the Hall of Fame and more.

You’ve been one of the main stars at WrestleMania for so many years – you’re Mr. WrestleMania. Does it ever get old for you or is it special every year?

You know – it does. It gets more special every year especially since my comeback. Every year I get out there and think it can’t get any better than this and then the next year it seems to. Again, this is another situation after doing this for so many years, you often think that – not that you’ve done it all but how is it going to be more special or more exciting the next time? It somehow happens. The Undertaker and myself have never faced each other at WrestleMania. We’ve two guys that have been a part of this organization for twenty years and we’ve somehow managed to stay separated. I think that’s an amazing thing. Again, at the 25th anniversary, these two guys that have been the cornerstone of the company for so long are going to meet up and I think it will be something that not only our company will enjoy but obviously the WWE fans will enjoy.

I remember the great match you had with the Undertaker in the first Hell in a Cell back in 1997. When was the last time the two of you had a match?

It was a short time after that. It was the Royal Rumble which would have been January 1998.

That's right.

Yeah, in the casket match. That was the match where I think the final blow happened to my back and a short time after that is when I took a hiatus.

I find it amazing that the two of you have not crossed paths since then because in this day and age with special attraction matches when it comes to a show like WrestleMania or Summerslam or even just something big for TV with a brand versus brand match but somehow you guys have been able to stay separated. How exactly does that happen?

I honestly can’t tell you because I feel the same way you do which is – like you said in this day and age. That’s very difficult to do and somehow we have managed to do that. I think a couple of years ago when it came down to The Undertaker and myself at the Royal Rumble, when he and I stood up and got – the feeling that was in that arena and coming across on that pay-per-view, I think that’s when a number of people said “hey”! (laughs) I think it’s one of those things where you’re going about your business and he’s going about his business and I think people forgot about it. That’s playing to our favor now. I certainly can tell you I don’t it was something that was purposely done because as you know, in our business whatever I think we can do to create interest and to create, I don’t know - at one point I used the word profit - just try to create excitement and create something positive for our line of work. We would have gone there if it was something we thought of. Again, I don’t think it crossed people’s minds.

Last year, you had the huge match at WrestleMania against Ric Flair which turned out to be his final match. Can you talk about the pressure leading up to the match compared to the pressure you put on yourself going into the match this year against The Undertaker?

The difference between the guys last year and this year – first of all, this year I’ve got somebody that if I were to just completely fall apart it would still be OK. And I haven’t had that in I can’t remember when. That is not to stay that I’m just so far above everyone else. It’s just one of those things where you’re just out there with somebody that – Undertaker and myself have been a part of this company and even though we haven’t been in the ring that many times, he and I, you’re around each other enough to know that you don’t have to worry about the other guy. Again, the pressure last year was, obviously, the culmination of this man that has been such a hallmark of this industry. So many people have been touched by him and what he’s done. And then to be able to deliver and honor that in one match and try to keep him at a place where he deserves to be kept., make it special to him, make it special to the people that are watching, people that have been affected by him. I’ve had a lot of pressure on me before but I cannot honestly say that I don’t know that I’ve felt any more than I did last year. And again, to be the guy that sort of, that has to do that (laughs)… On one hand, as I was, I was extremely honored but the pressure was unlike anything I’ve ever felt before. You have to detach yourself emotionally from all of that and try to give focus to the point at hand. That was a difficult thing to do. Your emotion wants to jump in there all the time and you sort of have to stay focused. I do have to say that’s one of the more difficult things I’ve had to endure professionally.

Since this is wrestling and we kind of know how retirements go on most occasions, did you ever think Ric was going to come back and have another match?

I don’t know. That was something – put it this way. We all know, if you’re a friend of Ric Flair which I am, you know him and you know how he is about this line of work. So, I know that might be a struggle for him. And that’s OK. You can’t be somebody’s friend and put requirements on it and I don’t do that to him and I wouldn’t do it to him. My job was to go out there and, in my mind, believe that it was going to be his last and do the absolute best job I could to pay tribute to that and honor that and that’s what I did. Ric Flair is a grown man and he can make his decisions and I would still be his friend no matter what decision he made.

You mentioned how special WrestleMania gets each and every year for you, especially since you’ve come back. Do you think you’ve gotten better with age?

You know, I’d like to think, for heaven’s sake, I’ve gotten a little wiser. (laughs) I think that’s helped certainly in the ring. As the business changes and as you get older, obviously there are areas where you slow down from a physical standpoint. With the way production and the way the business is changing, it calls for you to be better at things other than just the physical now and that’s something where I’ve really enjoyed improving on in my in-ring character If you will. I’ve enjoyed trying to convey a story, if you will, just with my face without ever saying a word and that’s been a fun art to try and learn. So, from, that standpoint, I think I’m still improving in areas that obviously I needed to improve in and I enjoy doing that.

The Hall of Fame has become such as huge part of WrestleMania weekend with it taking place the night before. This year, the Von Erichs are being inducted. With you growing up in Texas, what kind of influence did they have on you?

So many of the individuals that we’re inducting this year had an influence on me.

Sure like the Funks.

You bet. The Funks and a lot of people mind not know but Bill Watts was the first guy I ever worked for when I was 19 years old. There are a number of individuals. The Von Erichs were huge here in Texas. At 18 years old when I was trying to become a wrestler after watching them growing up, I was driving them around in a van taking them to and from the building and things like that. It’s going to be a very special night because this is a situation where the folks that you grew up with are going to have a special night and pay tribute to them. And in a strange sort of way, you feel like you’re a part of that because they had such an influence on you. This WrestleMania, because it’s in the state of Texas, so many of the Hall of Famers are from the state of Texas. So many of them had an influence on me and have been a part of my life and impacted my life in various different ways. It’s going to make that night different than many of the other Hall of Fames.

I read that in the current edition of the WWE Magazine that you had been asked about whenever the time comes and you go into the Hall of Fame on who would give the induction speech. You mentioned several guys and even threw out the name Bret Hart. Can you discuss that and why you think that might be an idea of something you would like to have if it could happen when that time comes?

Sure. I was saying that from the perspective of I so much enjoy the Hall of Fame but it can be – and I want this to come out right – it’s a time of tribute and a time of honoring but often we get focuses all on the good and it tends to be, I don’t know, a little fluffy. I would like mine to be, I don’t know, maybe be honest. I’m one with who I was and I’m one with who I am. I felt that Bret Hart could bring a real perspective to that. He’s always been a guy even know that despite all of our differences, he’s still always been objective about my ability. They didn’t put this in there I don’t think – the only thing that he wouldn’t have any knowledge of is the person I am now and I understand that. It was from the idea of wanting someone that could give a real honest perspective of my career because it hasn’t all been fluff and it hasn’t all been fantastic and I think that’s OK. I just felt that I can be a pretty strange guy. (laughs) I supposed that it was just something that I thought, gosh, my Hall of Fame induction to be more about truth more than anything else. It’s sort of a fantasy, sort of, dream job and it’s a great line of work so we can create anything we want and it can be very fairytale-ish and I think that’s great on one hand. I just figured maybe it would be, I don’t know, neat or nice to have somebody that can give a real perspective on the journey because it hasn’t been a fairytale. It’s turned out awesome but it was a tough, rugged road. I just thought that maybe he could give a fresh perspective to it. It’s one of those things that you go I know this sounds crazy but…

With WrestleMania taking place in Houston, how nice is it to be back in the state of Texas? You won’t have that long of a drive to get there. (Shawn lives in San Antonio.)

No, I was saying that earlier. It will be three hours from home and heck, if I felt like it I’ll be able to drive home afterwards. There’s going to be a comfort to this one and maybe a more relaxed atmosphere on one hand for this WrestleMania. There’s so many pressures and anxieties and stresses that go along with it, it will be nice to have a few of them sort of taken care of and certainly being in your home state is one of them and being close to home, being able to know the area somewhat. So, there’s going to be a real freshness about this one that hasn’t been there for many of the other ones.

The Undertaker came out to cut a promo about Shawn & warn him on what he should expect at WM25, but was interrupted by a video on the Titon Tron. At first, it was video shots of The Undertaker, but then we see Shawn in a graveyard. He begins to talk about 'Taker's past opponents & how he has beaten them & made them rest in piece. Shawn said there was a grave dug, but it wasn't for him; it was for The Undertaker. There was a tombstone that said "16-1" on it, which Shawn kicked into the grave & buried. When the video cut back to The Undertaker, he was pretty angry at what Shawn had said & done.

I feel a cold coming on, so I'm keeping this as short & sweet as possible.

Shawn Michaels came out & talked about his upcoming match with The Undertaker. He said he shouldn't have to qualify for any match at Wrestlemania. He stated he sent a message to The Undertaker by having a video package of him aired on WWE Smackdown. A video package of The Undertaker aired on the screen. Afterwards, the lights were down with The Undertaker behind him. Shawn, who showed no fear, said "Hello, Undertaker", before turning to him & stating "I've been expecting you". 'Taker talked about how he didn't need to out perform anyone. He respected Shawn, but he would fall just as those before him did.

Shawn & 'Taker went back & forth, with Shawn reminding The Undertaker about his ladder match, Iron Man match, & how he ended Ric Flair's career. The Undertaker stated that at Wrestlemania Shawn would rest in peace. Or tried to. Shawn cut him off & stated he'd rest comfortably knowing he ended The Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak.

It was announced that next week on Raw, it would be Shawn Michaels & The Undertaker vs. JBL & Vladimir Kozlov.

JBL came out & stated that since Shawn Michaels won the match the night before, he was payed in full & was no longer employed by him. He then went on to challange The Undertaker, stating he'd end The Undertaker's WM streak.

Shawn Michaels then came out & said if anyone should issue the challange, it should be. JBL tried to tell him no, but Shawn reminded him that he doesn't work for him anymore. Shawn then issued a challange to him; next week they would wrestle & the winner will then go on to challange The Undertaker for Wrestlemania 25. JBL then accepted. For months, Shawn Michaels has acted as JBL’s employee, doing his boss’ bidding in the self-made millionaire’s failed attempts to become World Heavyweight Champion. Facing the self-proclaimed “wrestling god” at No Way Out, HBK has an opportunity to free himself from Layfield’s thrall, though he’ll also have to place the rights to his name and likeness on the line.

These unique stipulations grew out of Shawn Michaels’ performance review, which was given to him by his employer live on Raw. JBL was incensed that in spite of the money he had paid to Michaels, he still does not possess the World Heavyweight Title, and what’s worse, has little opportunity to obtain it between now and WrestleMania XXV. After publicly upbraiding his employee, Layfield gave HBK an opportunity to not only escape their arrangement but to be paid in full for the length of the odious, one-year contract. But in order to be free to once again be The Showstopper, Michaels had to place his name and likeness in the balance, which if JBL tastes victory, would give Layfield the right to increase his wealth on HBK’s back in perpetuity.

Michaels’ deal with the devil began months ago at Armageddon, when in the wake of personal financial disaster, HBK agreed to work for JBL. Since then, Michaels has made clear his distaste for his deplorable employer, but in the interest of providing for his family, he did what was asked of him. At the self-made millionaire’s urging, The Showstopper attacked World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, disqualified one of JBL’s opponents, and even laid down in a match against his employer, but throughout, HBK has struggled to maintain his integrity.

At No Way Out, if Michaels wins, he can have his cake and eat it too: Simultaneously safeguard his integrity and provide for his family. However, if he loses, he will be forever in service to JBL, his name and likeness rented out to the highest bidder as part of Layfield’s business empire. Will Shawn Michaels earn his release from his contract, or will he find that there’s No Way Out?

JBL had Shawn come out so he could evaluate his job so far. He said he held up to his end of the deal, but Shawn didn't hold up to his. Shawn told JBL he had the match won last week, but he interfered, so the blame was on him. JBL asked Shawn if he wanted to be released from his contract, & Shawn said what he wanted to do was kick him in the face. JBL told Shawn to think of someone other than himself; think of his family.

JBL then made another deal with him. He challenged him to a match at No Way Out. If Shawn wins, he's out of his one-year contract with JBL, & JBL would pay him everything at once, & he'd never have to worry again. But if he lost, JBL owned his name & the rights to it; he would make money off of it, not him or his family. Shawn accepted. JBL reminded Shawn that he still works for him, & up until No Way Out, he couldn't touch him. JBL then began to taunt Shawn both verbally & physically. Shawn finally had enough & left the ring angry.

He said he kicked Cena, covered him with JBL, & got a new ref. He said he did everything humanly possible to make sure JBL would walk out as World Heavyweight Champion. Since becoming World Heavyweight Champion for the first time at Survivor Series, John Cena has defended his title in hard-fought matches against the wily and nefarious Chris Jericho. At Royal Rumble The Champ’s title will again be in jeopardy as he faces a ring warrior who knows exactly what it takes to put down John Cena: The self-proclaimed “wrestling god” himself, JBL.

Ever since joining the Raw roster, JBL has done his best to angle for title opportunities, though championship gold itself has consistently eluded the Longhorn Loudmouth. In recent weeks, however, things have been coming up in the self-made millionaire’s favor, as he utilized the services of his employee, Shawn Michaels, to not only win a qualifying match against Rey Mysterio but also remain the last man standing in a Fatal Four Way Elimination Match for No. 1 contendership.

The process to select the new No. 1 contender involved numerous former World Champions, of which JBL is one of the most notable, bearing the honor of being the longest-reigning World Heavyweight Champion in SmackDown history. The Longhorn Loudmouth also boasts extensive knowledge of the World Heavyweight Champion himself, information he learned in the field, by defeating Cena in the 2008 Match of the Year, a Parking Lot Brawl at The Great American Bash (recognized as the Slammy Award winner after JBL relieved his employee, Shawn Michaels of the honor).

John Cena has proven to the WWE Universe that since returning from his neck surgery, he is as powerful and dominant a competitor as ever, and will certainly be eager to repay JBL for heaving him through a windshield at The Great American Bash. Contract Signing For The World Heavyweight Championship Match At The Royal Rumble.

John Cena & JBL signed the contracts, & John Cena tried to talk HBK into being not working for JBL anymore. He told Shawn he knows he can still make a living wrestling, & he still has it.

JBL cut John off to talk about how this was a business deal & that Shawn was not forced to work for him. Shawn cut him off & made it clear that he did not like JBL or working for him.

He told John that he got himself into this mess, & he would get it out. And he would do what he had to to support his family, even if it meant costing him the World Heavyweight Championship. John stated that he didn't believe Shawn would do that to him, & Shawn responded with "I'm sorry you feel that way".

It seemed that Shawn was going to take a shot at John, but John blocked it, only to be knocked down by JBL. Shawn went to kick John, but John ducked, only to be kicked by JBL. JBL then clotheslined him as Shawn left the ring.

JBL left the ring, leaving John in there staring up at the ramp, not looking happy at all.

JBL & HBK appeared on Raw inside of his limo. JBL told Shawn this was his Wrestlemania. He told him he wasn't fighting for a title, but he was fighting for a paycheck. Shawn did not look too pleased with JBL.

Backstage, Shawn told JBL that this was his Wrestlemania, & he didn't need him in his corner because he was still the Showstopper. As he walked off, JBL responded with "Oh really?".

John Cena was interviewed last week by Todd Grishim. He hyped up both his match with JBL at the Rumble & his match with Shawn Michaels on Raw. He said Shawn Michaels doesn't have a Wrestlemania, & tonight would be his Wrestlemania.

After the match, Shawn immediately left, but did not look too happy with his win. JBL stood over John Cena, who was still laying in the ring.

Randy Orton Is The New Mr. Monday Night.

There are some pretty intriguing story lines on Raw right now, and Randy Orton is involved in several of them.

The JBL/Shawn Michaels saga remains the main angle on Raw, and last night Orton, John Cena and Chris Jericho were brought into it. The Orton/Legacy story line also is heating up, and Orton is part of the Kane/Kelly Kelly angle as well.

Orton continues to be the most compelling man in sports entertainment, and even though he was all over last night’s show, it never felt like he was being overexposed. Whether he was cutting a promo in the ring, engaging in a backstage segment or wrestling, Orton had my full attention.

I’m curious as to how Orton will be booked in the coming months. Even though he’s a fantastic heel, he seems ripe for a babyface turn. If Cena versus Orton is the Raw main event at WrestleMania 25 (and I think it will be), it will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts. It would be huge if WWE pulled off a double turn ala Steve Austin-Bret Hart, but I seriously doubt that a Cena heel turn is even being considered.

Other thoughts on last night’s show:

Speaking of intriguing story lines, it was announced that Vince McMahon – who hasn’t been on television in more than six months – will be returning to Raw in two weeks. Just in case anyone has forgotten, the last time we saw the WWE chairman, part of the set collapsed on him. I think the time is about right for him to come back. …

The wrestling action was good, especially the tag team match pitting John Morrison and The Miz against Rey Mysterio and Kofi Kingston. …

The main event – Michaels and Cena against Orton and Jericho – was entertaining and had a nice dose of drama, as the question was whether Michaels would attack Cena per JBL’s instructions. I’m a little surprised that Michaels didn’t “accidentally” superkick Cena, but in retrospect, Michaels not doing it was the right call. It reinforced that Michaels is a conflicted babyface and not merely JBL’s puppet. I’m looking forward to next week’s Michaels-Cena match (with JBL in Michaels’ corner). …

The opening segment in which Orton and Jericho faced off with Michaels and JBL over last week’s controversial four-way elimination match got the show off to a good start. Michaels got a fair amount of boos, but some cheers as well. …

The CM Punk-William Regal match for the Intercontinental title was a letdown after all the time that was spent building it up. It didn’t even go five minutes and had a cheap DQ finish. At least there is going to be a rematch. …

The Kelly Kelly-Jillian Hall match wasn’t bad at all. Jillian was very aggressive and Double K showed a lot of fire in her comeback. I liked Kelly Kelly’s new finisher in which she jumped on Hall’s back and hit a guillotine legdrop.…

The moratorium on shooting Stephanie McMahon below the waist was lifted. She looked great, which came as no surprise to me because she looked great when I saw her backstage last month when Raw was at Verizon Center in Washington. I assume the lack of a full body shot prior to last night was because she was self conscious about her weight when she first returned to TV.

The show opened up with Randy Orton & Chris Jericho in the ring. They stated that despite the "every man for himself" rule of a Fatal Fourway Match, Shawn was learly working with JBL. They've filed a formal protest to get JBL removed from the Championship Match at The Royal Rumble, Shawn to never compete for the title ever again, & to let those Randy & Chris have a match later to determine the No. 1 Contender. Chris stated that he didn't care what the hypocrite fans thought.

JBL & Michaels then came out & told Randy & Chris they're right; they were working together. He told them to lose with dignity, because they would've done the same thing if they could. Chris then told JBL that they don't associate with with dishonest and indecent people. Randy & Chris then turned to Shawn & proceeded to tell him he was a sell out & his actions made him look like a prophet. Shawn then told Chris that if there was one thing that would allow him to sleep at night, it was knowing the he personally made sure those 2 would not fight for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Randy then told Shawn to face the fact, he took a turn for the worse. He then told Shawn that Ric Flair's career was ended by "a weak, pathetic, sellout". Randy then told him that last week's decision would be overturned tonight.

Stephanie McMahon then came out & stated that Shawn Michaels did not lay down last week, he took the Clothesline From Hell, & that the referee's decision still stands. She then told Chris & Randy that they have both been entered in the WWE Royal Rumble. Chris then asked if this was supposed to be some kind of an award. He then stated that Shawn doesn't deserve to even be in the Royal Rumble. JBL agreed & said that Shawn's sole purpose would be to make sure he wins the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble by being in his corner. Stephanie accepted that, but said that's 3 weeks away, & she wanted to talk about tonight.

Stephanie then said the easiest thing to do would be to book those four in a tag team match, of Randy & Chris vs. Shawn & JBL. But she wanted to make things more interesting. Instead, tonight would be a test of Michaels’s integrity. It would be Randy & Chris vs. Shawn Michaels & John Cena.

Backstage, Shawn Michaels was backstage when JBL approached him & told him to just join the team. He told him that he's been Mr. Wrestlemania before, but now it would be more important because he would be helping him walk into Wrestlemania 25 as the World Heavyweight Champion. He told Shawn if he Superkicked John Cena tonight, Randy punted John, & John had to give up the title, there would be a bonus in it for him. Shawn Michaels stood up & looked a bit angry, but he didn't say anything.

Later backstage again, John Cena approached Shawn & told him his situation with JBL "is what it is", but wanted to know if he was fighting 2 guys tonight or 3. He then asked him if he was going to be the Shawn Michaels he always knew, or "JBL's Puppet". Shawn then stood up & told John in an angry tone that he wasn't JBL's puppet. He also told John that he should know the history with teaming up with him.

John Cena nearly gave Shawn the "FU", but didn't seem to know it was him. The two nearly got into it, but the match continued.

After the match, Shawn Michaels seemed as though he wanted to Superkick John, but he didn't, & John didn't take his eyes off of Shawn.

Backstage, Todd Grishim approached JBL about it & Shawn still having integrity. JBL stated that his employee did great out there, but he talked to Stephanie McMahon, & next week it would be Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena.

Triple H said he hoped he did & walked off, as Shawn stood there with his head down & said "Me, too".

Stephanie McMahon held Raw's first ever "forum", where members of the Raw roster could ask questions & address concerns.

After hearing questions from Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes, JBL stepped up & asked where Vince McMahon was because he needed to talk to him about the Survivor Series match. Stephanie told JBL that their father was out of the picture, & that her & Shane would be running the show.

Shawn then stepped up from the back & asked what would happen if someone wanted to get revenge on someone else hitting him with a chair the week before, but they couldn't wait 6 days. Stephanie had said earlier that every man & woman on the roster was responsible for their own actions. Shawn acknowledged that & apologized, but said he was going to take responsibility for what was going to happen. Shawn then attacked JBL.

Backstage, Shawn was walking with his tag team partner, Rey Mysterio Jr., & pointed out that this was the first time they would ever tag up, & [playfully] stated he was nervous making the walk. So Rey helped him, & they ran into Dolph Ziggler. Shawn then said "Hey, you're Dolph Ziggler! I'm Shawn Michaels", & then hyped up the match, stating that it was next.

As first reported on WWE.com, Shawn Michaels will captain the team of Rey Mysterio, The Great Khali and Cryme Tyme in facing captain JBL’s team of Kane, MVP, The Miz & John Morrison in a Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Match.

Though the participants may not be familiar with teaming with one another, many of their opponents in this bout share heated rivalries. The captains for each team are no strangers to one another with the hatred between the two growing quickly, as illustrated by JBL’s actions on Raw.

Michaels and the self-made millionaire found their paths intertwined in the chase for Chris Jericho and Jericho’s World Heavyweight Title, respectively. It’s gotten personal and – more importantly – physical between HBK and JBL, most recently with Layfield annihilating The Showstopper during Michaels’ Last Man Standing Match against Jericho.

The opposing captains aren’t the only two to have history. The rivalry between Kane and Rey Mysterio has gone on for months, with Stephanie McMahon attempting to put to an end to it on Raw in a brutal No Disqualification Match which saw Mysterio once again put down the Big Red Monster.

An interesting addition to Shawn Michaels’ team will be SmackDown’s The Great Khali, who had an unexpected change of heart when he came to Mysterio’s aid against Mark Henry and Kane.

The Punjabi Giant won’t be the only Superstar representing SmackDown as Montel Vontavious Porter will be looking to turn things around in a big way with his unprecedented losing streak that has seen him as anything but SmackDown’s MVP.

Also, there is no love lost between The Miz & John Morrison and Cryme Tyme. Their rivalry started on WWE.com amongst their respective online shows and spilt over into some brutal in-ring battles.

With the high tension between many of the opponents in this bout, the match could possibly be one of the most brutal Elimination Matches in Survivor Series history. Witness the contest which carries on the team vs. team tradition live, as Survivor Series airs Sunday, Nov. 23, only on pay-per-view.

Regarding creative input in his storyline with Shawn Michaels: Most of the best programs and story lines have a lot of input from the principal characters, and I’ve never been the type of guy to just have somebody write something for me. Obviously, behind the scenes, some of the things that you do from Monday to Monday I have no control over, but I do a lot of writing for all the promos, and Shawn and I did a lot of writing together for some of the things that we did.

On punching Rebecca Michaels in the face: I mean, what could you say? It was one of those things where there’s always the X factor that something could happen like that, and we all knew what the danger of it was. Obviously, Shawn and I felt terrible. Rebecca did not. She loved it. She thought it was awesome. And the fact that she didn’t end up with any permanent damage – no broken teeth, a fat lip for a couple weeks – it’s probably the best thing that could have happened. That really kick-started the angle and took it to a different place. Obviously, I felt so bad about it, but when all was said and done, it actually worked out for the best.

It was announced earlier that night that Chris Jericho would pick Batista's opponent for the night, while Batista would pick Chris Jericho's.

Shawn Michaels came out & told Chris Jericho that he'd like to tell him if he's voted the special guest referee for Chris Jericho vs. Batista at Cyber Sunday, that he'd call it down the middle. But instead, he told Chris he was NOT going to call it right down the middle. Afterwards, he attacked Chris, causing him to leave the ring. Angry, Chris then stated HBK would be Batista's opponent for the night.

Before The Match: Chris Jericho announced that this match would be a Lumberjack Match, which looked as if only the heels were down at ringside as the Lumberjacks.

Eventually, the Lumberjacks spilled into the ring & were taken out by Shawn & Batista. After the match, Shawn & Batista shook hands as an angry Chris Jericho watched on a monitor in the back.

CBN.com – “It really became, you know, I’m a wrestler. That’s what we do,” said WWE Wrestler Shawn Michaels. “There was also a certain badge of honor in being one of those guys that could go out there, tear down that house in front of those people and then go and run all night, then get up the next day and do it again. You wore that like a badge of honor.”

From the time world wrestling entertainment superstar Shawn Michaels was in high school, there was no greater badge of honor to be earned than to wear a championship belt as a professional wrestler. It consumed every part of his life, and eventually his pursuit of the belt consumed him.

“I just couldn’t get enough of it. And I just knew that that was what I wanted to do. The hard part obviously was trying to convince everybody else that I wanted to do it,” Shawn said.

Shawn went to college to make his parents happy, but that only left him frustrated.

“After a couple of semesters, I came back to my dad and told him that ‘I’m wasting your money and I feel like I am wasting my time. I’m trying to do this, please let me try that wrestling. You know I can do it,’” Shawn said.

Not only did Shawn do it. He turned some heads in the process. After he met wrestling legend José Lethario, Shawn quickly got booked in the mid-south circuit in Louisiana. The pros quickly saw Shawn’s natural ability and began to teach him the ways of professional wrestling.

His career hit the fast lane, both in and out of the ring. He made a lasting friend and partner in Marty Janetty and the duo soon became “The Midnight Rockers.”

“Professionally, we were moving up, we were getting notoriety, we were beginning to draw money. Ultimately, in that line of work, that’s the bottom-line. So the WWE wanted to bring us up, but they were concerned about our reputation; we had made one by then as far as our extracurricular activities,” Shawn said.

What was their reputation?

“Partiers,” Shawn said, “also partiers bordering on troublemakers though.”

“At the time I thought being a rebel was cool, doing it to stick it to the man. You know, if you’re desperate enough for attention, any attention will make you feel better. I was so desperate just to be noticed, to get that attention,” Shawn said, “it’s like a child, negative attention is better than no attention at all.”

When they finally made it to the WWE, Shawn and Marty’s reputation as troublemakers made them a lightning rod for negative attention. A fight with another wrestler in a bar one night brought them both before WWE president Vince McMann.

Shawn remembered the conversation well:

“He goes, ‘nice boots.’

I said, ‘thank you very much.’

He goes, ‘they are made for walking you know.’

And we go, ‘Ohhhh no.’

And he goes, ‘ha-ha, I’m just kidding, come on in here.’ Brought us in and then he fired us, with a smile on his face, nicely - but, fired us nonetheless. He just told us, ‘look, they don’t like you here, if they don’t like you, you’re not going to make it.’”

Shawn began using drugs to ease his disappointment and dull his anger. Before long it became an addiction.

“After the incident with the WWE, it took a real downward, you know, then it became more of an anger thing, giving up,” Shawn said. “I can remember thinking about, ‘boy you know, it wouldn’t bother me if I ended it.’”

Shawn felt the need for a change. He ended his long running partnership with Marty and struck out on his own. Despite what the critics said, the WWE decided they could work with Shawn’s image, and “The Heartbreak Kid” was born.

“You’re not supposed to be able to move up like that, and you’ll only be able to get to this certain level anyway, because you’re not that big, you’re never going to be the number one guy,” Shawn said, mimicking what others had told him. “At the time, that wasn’t my mind. I was moving up, things were going well, going to the intercontinental championship; now I am exceeding where I truthfully in my heart of hearts thought I could ever be.”

Even though Shawn’s career had taken off, his personal life got worse. He started “Degeneration X,” a group of young rebels that broke every rule in the wrestling world. Pretty soon Shawn was back in the fast lane, and his drug use accelerated.

“At the time, I didn’t get the feeling I was abusing any of it, I guess because I was still able to do my job. And again, I had always sort of looked back on people and said, ‘really the only difference between me and the guy on the street was that I was really good at it.’ You know, I was one of those ‘good’ drug addicts,” Shawn said. “I suppose I hid it better than anyone else. You had to be able to do it all. You’ve got to be able to go 100 miles per hour in the ring, out of the ring, partying, and you’ve still got to make all your commitments. So that’s why I didn’t see anything wrong with it.”

Shawn didn’t see it coming, but his life was about to change. It started when he met Rebecca. In less than six weeks, the couple married. But, when Rebecca became pregnant with their first child, Shawn knew things had to change. So, when Rebecca suggested they go to church that Sunday, he agreed. There, for the first time, his life truly changed.

“He just changed my heart. That’s why it has stuck. If I truly believe everything that’s in that book, God is in control. He is in control. He’s working for my good. Doesn’t mean everything’s going to be smooth, but that’s all I needed to know. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. There is a mountaintop with this valley,” Shawn said.

Shawn and Rebecca now have two children, and continue to face each challenge life throws at them together. With a changed heart and a new passion for life, Shawn continues to use wrestling as a platform to share his story.

“I’ve always wanted to be a rebel. I’ve never wanted to do what everybody else is doing. Man, I’ve got news for you, that is what I am really doing now, and it’s the coolest thing ever. Chris Jericho was in charge for the night. He made the match of Shawn Michaels vs. Lance Cade in a No Disqualification Match.

Backstage, Shawn was interviewed by Todd Grishim. Todd asked Shawn what he thought about him going against Lance Cade tonight. Shawn told Todd to ask Chris if he was going to defend the title tonight, & that he doesn't think he will. He bought up how he was tired & sore, & asked if he should beg Chris to call of the match. Shawn said that Chris was sending in Lance to do his dirty work & finish him off. Shawn said he'd show everyone that he still has gas left in the tank.

Shawn Michaels was interviewed backstage about his mystery partner for tonight's match against Chris Jericho & Lance Cade. Shawn made hints at it being Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, or Bret "Hitman" Hart. But then said he'd like a partner who actually liked him.

Chris Jericho & Lance Cade came out for the match. Shawn Michaels came out alone, but then went back to the back. Degeneration X's music then hit, revealing his mystery partner as none other than Triple H, who will be taking on Chris Jericho & Matt Hardy in a Triple Threat match this Friday [10/3/08] on Smackdown's premire on MyNetwork.

Degeneration X vs. Chris Jericho & Lance Cade.
Winners: DX by a DQ. Chris & Lance attacked HBK as Triple H wasn't in the ring. Triple H then returned to the ring with a Sledgehammer. Chris left the ring as Triple H hit Lance Cade. DX, who was still in the ring, stared down Chris Jericho as Raw went off the air.

World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho experienced his share of mixed emotions on the last edition of Raw. First, Jericho escaped with a win in a tough Steel Cage Match against CM Punk. If World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho thought he was finished with Shawn Michaels after winning the gold at Unforgiven, Raw General Manager Mike Adamle certainly helped him realize otherwise, penning Raw’s main event at No Mercy: Jericho vs. Michaels in a Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The brutality Jericho and Michaels have put one another through in recent months has been like nothing seen in a WWE ring in recent memory. For months, these two legendary ring warriors have done everything in their power to decimate each other at every given opportunity, most recently in their Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven, where HBK left Jericho incapacitated in the ring. Unforgiven had a bittersweet ending for Jericho, though. It was the first-ever Undisputed Champion who replaced an injured CM Punk in the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble. Jericho took advantage of the opportunity, and in the final seconds of the bout, scored a pinfall victory that saw him crowned as the new World Heavyweight Champion. (Read More)

Since participating in two grueling matches at Unforgiven, Adamle hasn’t taken it easy on the new World Heavyweight Champion, pitting him in two tough matches in back-to-back weeks; one against Batista and one defending his newly won title against CM Punk in a steel cage.

Things aren’t going to get any easier come No Mercy, as Jericho’s World Heavyweight gold will be defended against HBK once again in the match Michaels made famous at WrestleMania X – the Ladder Match.

Will Michaels use his experience in Ladder Matches to lead him to another win over Jericho and become the new World Heavyweight Champion?
